GARMENT CARE
Taking care of your apparel is a crucial step in ensuring product longevity. By adequately maintaining your kit, you can enhance both functional and aesthetic performance
Prolong the life of your Salire items with these guidelines:
General Washing Instructions
This guidance offers general care instructions for your item. Always adhere to the label instructions. Many products can be cared for as follows:
- Gentle machine wash at 30°C or lower
- Use non-bio detergent
- Do not bleach
- Air dry in the shade
Further Washing Details and Garment Care
- Always consult the label on your garment for recommended care and wash procedures.
- We suggest conducting a pre-wash for your new garments before initial use, then hang your items to dry in the shade.
- Post-activity, hang your items to aerate instead of throwing in wash basket. This practice mitigates bacteria and odour accumulation, reducing the risk of material damage. For heavily soiled items, prompt rinsing is recommended to prevent stains. Before washing, ensure all pockets are empty, and close zips. Reverse bibs and jerseys before placing in delicates bag then into washing machine.
- Load your washing machine according to its recommended capacity. Note that over or under-filling compromises washing efficiency.
- Wash items with like colours to minimise colour transfer. For wash settings, opt for the coldest water feasible. We recommend 30°C. Hot water can weaken the elastic fibres, leading to loss of stretch and shape retention. The cold water helps preserve the integrity of the fabric while still effectively removing dirt and stains. It is also energy-efficient and better for the environment conserving approximately 80% of machine energy usage, according to Sustainability Victoria. Also by choosing a brief spin cycle further decreases water and energy consumption whilst still ensuring proper cleaning.
- Exercise extra caution with cotton products. Treat stains before washing in cold or lukewarm water.
- Whenever possible, air dry your items. Most items are suitable for hanging, preserving their shape, prolonging their lifespan, and reduce energy usage compared to using a dryer.
Product Usage
When putting on Bib-Short with silicone grippers, fold Bib ends outward before inserting legs, then gently pull on Bib and wrap brace over shoulders. Once legs are in and Bibs pulled on, fold grippers back onto your legs to secure them.
We discourage pulling hard from the sides as being a lycra based material they will stretch over time if not cared for correctly.
- Refrain from overloading jersey pockets
- We recommend washing bibs and jerseys between rides
- Avoid mixing light and dark colours
- Steer clear of using bleach and fabric softeners on all products
- Do not iron Jersey, Vest or Bibs
- Iron Tee, inside out on medium heat.
